SimplyRCS vs EZ Texting, RCS & SMS Compared (2026)

Head-to-head comparison

Reviewed by , Co-Founder & CEO, Signalmash · Last reviewed · Editorial standards

The verdict

EZ Texting is a well-known subscription texting app built for small businesses sending SMS and MMS blasts; SimplyRCS is an RCS-led messaging platform with SMS and MMS fallback and carrier-rate pricing. Choose EZ Texting if you want the simplest possible tool for occasional plain-text campaigns to a small list and do not need verified RCS this year. Choose SimplyRCS if you want branded, verified RCS live now, with rich cards, carousels, a bot builder and a shared inbox, Google sender verification and 10DLC filed for you, and a per-message rate roughly a tenth of a texting-app credit, all on published pricing.

No card. Your brand on a real handset in days. US Tier-1 carrier delivery through Signalmash, on published rates.

Who EZ Texting is

EZ Texting is one of the longest-running US small-business texting apps: keyword opt-ins, list blasts, MMS, templates and a web app a non-technical owner can run in an afternoon. It sells monthly plans sized by contact count, with a credit bundle in each and an overage rate above it, and it includes A2P registration in the plan. On RCS it is candid: its own RCS page says the service is primed for launch but that most businesses will not see access until 2026 at the earliest, behind an interest form, with a promised feature set of 2,000-character messages, carousels of up to ten cards, a verified brand badge and automatic fallback to SMS or MMS. Until that ships, an EZ Texting message is an SMS or an MMS.

The honest take

Where each one is the right call.

Weigh both sides. The bar shows how the reasons stack up.

  • Verified, branded RCS is live today: name, logo and checkmark on every message, rich cards, carousels and suggested actions, with automatic SMS and MMS fallback for every recipient who cannot receive it.
  • Per-message pricing at carrier rates, published, with no plan tiers and no bundle to run out of.
  • An AI bot builder that works from plain English and an agent that answers only from content you approved.
  • Google sender verification and 10DLC filed for you, with a two-to-four-week target for a first verified send.
  • A full API at the same price as the app, with signed webhooks and an MCP server for AI agents.

A comparison that only ever flatters us is not worth reading. Here is where EZ Texting is genuinely the better call.

  • You send a few hundred plain-text messages a month to a small list and want the lowest fixed monthly bill.
  • You want a tool a single owner can set up in an afternoon with no onboarding conversation.
  • Your audience is partly in Canada, which SimplyRCS does not serve.
  • You are happy to wait for RCS and want to register interest with a vendor you already use.

What EZ Texting charges

EZ Texting publishes its plans, which puts it ahead of most texting apps on transparency. The thing to notice is the unit: a credit is one SMS segment, and an MMS is three credits, so the per-message cost is the plan price divided by the credits you actually use, with the overage rate as the marginal price once the bundle is gone.

What you are billed for EZ Texting SimplyRCS
Entry plan Launch: $25/month ($20 billed annually), up to 500 contacts, 500 credits a month, $0.04 per extra credit, $5/month telecom fee None; software is free
Mid plans Boost: $75/month ($60 annually), 500 credits, $0.035 overage. Scale: $125/month ($100 annually), 500 credits, $0.03 overage, onboarding specialist None
Enterprise From $3,000/month, 200,000 credits, $0.01 overage, dedicated short code $250/month per verified RCS Agent, any volume
SMS 1 credit: $0.05 at full use of Launch, $0.03 to $0.04 marginal above the bundle $0.0039 per message
MMS 3 credits: $0.09 to $0.12 marginal $0.0150 per message
RCS text or interactive card Not available yet $0.0039 per message

Inbound Free Same rate as outbound
A2P registration Included in the plan Filed for you; registry and carrier fees passed through at cost

Verified on 9 September 2026 against EZ Texting's pricing page and its RCS page. Verify current pricing with EZ Texting directly.

Two things follow from the table. At small volume EZ Texting's fixed monthly plan can be the cheaper total: a business sending 300 texts a month pays $25 on Launch and would pay $250 plus about $1.20 in messages on SimplyRCS, so if plain SMS to a short list is the whole job, the texting app wins on price. The crossover comes fast, though. Above the 500-credit bundle every SMS costs $0.03 to $0.04 and every MMS $0.09 to $0.12, against $0.0039 and $0.0150 here, so a 20,000-message month costs roughly $700 to $800 on EZ Texting's mid plans and about $78 in messages plus the $250 agent fee on SimplyRCS. And the comparison only covers SMS and MMS, because EZ Texting does not yet sell the verified RCS that is the reason to look at this category.

Best-fit buyer for SimplyRCS over EZ Texting

A US business that has outgrown blasts and wants messaging to look like the brand: a restaurant, clinic, retailer or service business that needs order and appointment flows with buttons, a loyalty card in the inbox, or a support bot, and wants the bill to track messages rather than a plan tier. Frequently asked

SimplyRCS vs EZ Texting, answered.

Does EZ Texting support RCS?

Not yet as a sendable channel. EZ Texting's RCS page describes the planned features and says most businesses will not see access until 2026 at the earliest, with an interest form in the meantime. SimplyRCS sends verified RCS today with automatic SMS and MMS fallback.

How much does EZ Texting cost per message?

Plans run $25, $75 and $125 a month (less billed annually), each with 500 credits, and $3,000 a month for Enterprise with 200,000 credits. One SMS is one credit and one MMS is three; extra credits cost $0.04, $0.035, $0.03 or $0.01 by plan. SimplyRCS charges $0.0039 per SMS or RCS text and $0.0150 per MMS or RCS message with media, with no plan fee beyond $250 a month per verified RCS agent.

Is SimplyRCS cheaper than EZ Texting?

Per message, by roughly ten times on SMS and six to eight times on MMS at the overage rates. Per month, EZ Texting can be cheaper for a few hundred plain texts because its plan is the whole bill, while SimplyRCS carries a $250 agent fee. Run the arithmetic at your monthly volume; the crossover sits in the low thousands of messages.

Can I move from EZ Texting to SimplyRCS and keep my number?

Yes. Long codes port through standard US number portability and toll-free numbers move by a RespOrg change. Your 10DLC campaigns are re-filed by SimplyRCS, and your opt-in list travels as data you export. Porting a number to a new messaging provider walks through it.

Why choose SimplyRCS over EZ Texting?

If you want verified RCS now rather than on a waitlist, a bill that scales with messages rather than plan tiers, an AI agent, and carrier approval handled for you, SimplyRCS is built for that. If you want the simplest SMS blast tool for a small list, EZ Texting remains a sound choice.

Switching from EZ Texting is the work we do for you.
