A shared business texting inbox showing RCS and SMS conversations
Quick answer

The best business texting service in 2026 is the one that matches how you text: a shared inbox for a team answering customers (Heymarket, Salesmsg, Text Request, Textline, Podium), a campaign tool for blasts to a list (SimpleTexting, EZ Texting, SlickText), pay-as-you-go for occasional sends (Textmagic), or an RCS-first platform when you want your name, logo and rich cards in the thread today (SimplyRCS). As of September 2026, only Heymarket, Salesmsg and SimplyRCS send verified RCS; the rest are SMS and MMS.

Full disclosure: this guide is published by SimplyRCS, so we are on the list, last. Every claim about another vendor was checked against that vendor's own pricing page, help centre or product page in September 2026, and every price is the one the vendor publishes or we say that it is quoted. Where another service is the better choice for you, we say so.

A business texting service is the tool a company uses to text customers from a business number: a shared inbox, templates, scheduling, and usually campaigns and automations on top. It is a different category from SMS marketing platforms, which are built around lists and promotions, and from RCS providers, which are the carrier-side vendors behind them. If you are a small business asking whether RCS is even open to you, can small businesses use RCS answers that first.

The ten, at a glance:

  1. Heymarket, for teams that want an omnichannel shared inbox with RCS as a channel, priced per seat plus credits.
  2. Salesmsg, for sales and support teams on HubSpot or similar CRMs that want texting, calling and RCS in one inbox.
  3. Text Request, for teams that want unlimited users and predictable plans sized by message volume.
  4. Textline, for support teams that want a conversation-first inbox with agents and credits, SMS and MMS only.
  5. Podium, for local businesses that want reviews, payments and texting in one product, quoted by sales.
  6. SimpleTexting, for straightforward SMS and MMS campaigns from a well-regarded, Sinch-owned tool.
  7. EZ Texting, for small budgets and keyword opt-ins, with RCS still behind an interest form.
  8. SlickText, for small businesses that want a verified sender profile on their SMS today.
  9. Textmagic, for occasional sends at a per-text rate with no monthly plan.
  10. SimplyRCS, for businesses that want verified, branded RCS live in weeks with published per-message rates and no seats.

How we judged them: five questions

Every vendor on this list can send a text. The differences that decide the bill and the customer's experience are these five.

  1. Inbox or campaigns first? A conversation inbox with assignment and history is a different product from a list-and-blast tool, even when both are called business texting.
  2. What are you charged for? Seats, message credits, a volume tier, or per message. A ten-person team on per-seat pricing pays ten times what a one-person team pays for the same messages.
  3. Who files the carrier registration? A business number has to be registered for 10DLC before it can send at volume; some vendors do it for you, some hand you the form and pass through the fees. 10DLC registration explains the steps.
  4. Does it send RCS today? Generally available with a verified sender, rich cards and fallback, or an explainer on the blog. Only the first changes what the customer sees.
  5. Is the pricing published? A price on the website you can check against your invoice, or a quote.

The ten business texting services, compared

1. Heymarket: best omnichannel team inbox, RCS included

Heymarket is a per-seat shared inbox that carries SMS, MMS, email, WhatsApp, Apple Messages for Business, Facebook, Instagram and webchat, and since 2026 RCS, all metered in one credit currency. Seats are $20, $41 or $62 per user a month billed annually on Standard, Plus and Pro (about $31, $56 and $82 month to month) with a two-user minimum; Enterprise is quoted. Messages are credits at $0.03 each on the 1,000-credit bundle: one credit per SMS or rich-text RCS segment, two per MMS, three per branded RCS message with media. RCS sender registration is a self-service wizard routed through Twilio's review, with $200 a year Aegis vetting and a $500 one-time T-Mobile activation per sender, and Heymarket's guide says verification can take six to ten weeks. Verified on 9 September 2026 against Heymarket's pricing page and its RCS guide. Choose it if the shared inbox with CRM sync is the core need and RCS is a welcome extra; the SimplyRCS vs Heymarket page has the line-by-line.

2. Salesmsg: best for CRM-connected sales teams that want RCS in the inbox

Salesmsg is a texting and calling inbox built around CRM integrations, with plans priced by seat and number: Basic at $25 a month and Pro at $277 a month, each with the first seat and first number included, extra seats at $10 a month and extra numbers at $5 a month, Enterprise by quote, two months free on annual billing and a 14-day free trial. Messages are credits: one per 160-character SMS, two per MMS. RCS is live: its RCS feature page describes branded templates built in a configurator, RCS broadcasts and automatic SMS fallback, with RCS in automations marked coming soon; RCS pricing is not on the pricing page. Choose it if your reps live in HubSpot or a similar CRM and want calls, texts and RCS in one place.

3. Text Request: best for unlimited users on predictable plans

Text Request prices by message volume rather than seats, with unlimited users and contacts on most plans and no contracts: its pricing page starts at $59 a month for 1,000 texts and runs to $2,900 a month for 250,000. Every plan includes two-way texting, shared inboxes, automation and onboarding support from its in-house team. The product page lists SMS and MMS; there is no RCS offering. Choose it if a whole team needs access and you want the bill to move with messages, not headcount.

4. Textline: best conversation-first inbox for support teams, SMS and MMS only

Textline is a support-style inbox sold by agents and credits: Essentials includes 600 message credits a month and three agents, Pro 2,000 credits and five agents with unlimited history, custom roles and Salesforce, and Enterprise is custom; plan prices are not shown on the pricing page, add-on credits are $0.03 each, 10DLC numbers carry a $15 monthly campaign fee (toll-free numbers do not), and there is a free trial without a card. Textline publishes an RCS explainer but sells SMS and MMS; its own article describes RCS as something the standard "eventually" allows. Choose it if conversations, surveys and agent workflows matter more than campaigns.

5. Podium: best for local businesses that want reviews, payments and texting together

Podium bundles a shared inbox, review management, web chat, payments and text campaigns for local businesses, with unlimited one-to-one texts on every plan. Pricing is quoted: its pricing page says plans are designed to fit your business and to talk to sales. When checked in September 2026 it did not offer RCS. Choose it if the reviews-and-payments bundle is the point and texting is one part of it.

6. SimpleTexting: best for simple SMS and MMS campaigns

SimpleTexting is an easy, well-regarded campaign tool with a 30-day money-back guarantee: plans start at $39 a month billed annually for 500 credits, extra credits are 5.5 cents, a local number is $10 a month plus a $4 carrier registration, and carrier fees are separate. It publishes RCS content but does not offer RCS; it is owned by Sinch, whose Sinch Engage platform does. Choose it if you want SMS done simply and RCS is not on your roadmap.

7. EZ Texting: best for small budgets and keyword opt-ins, RCS still to come

EZ Texting sells monthly plans sized by contacts with a credit bundle in each: Launch at $20 a month billed annually ($25 monthly), Boost at $60 ($75), Scale at $100 ($125), each with 500 monthly credits, and Enterprise at $3,000 a month with 200,000 credits, with A2P registration included, per its pricing page. Its RCS page is candid: the feature set is promised, access is behind an interest form, and most businesses will not see it until 2026 at the earliest. Choose it for inexpensive SMS now; the SimplyRCS vs EZ Texting page covers the RCS gap.

8. SlickText: best for a verified sender profile on your SMS today

SlickText's plans run from $29 a month for 500 credits to $939 a month for 50,000. In June 2026 it added basic RCS, meaning a verified sender profile with your business name and logo on eligible messages, applied for through SlickText, priced as an add-on at a $500 one-time set-up fee and $200 a year; there are no rich cards or carousels in the offer. Choose it if the checkmark and logo are what you want and your messages are otherwise SMS.

9. Textmagic: best pay-as-you-go for occasional sends

Textmagic has no monthly plan: its pricing page lists 4.9 cents per US SMS, 1 cent per SMS when you connect your own Twilio, Vonage, Sinch or Bandwidth numbers, $0.08 per MMS, $10 a month per local or toll-free number with the first month free, and $10 a month per 10DLC campaign, with a free trial balance. It publishes RCS explainers; the pricing page and API cover SMS and MMS. Choose it if you send a few hundred texts a month and want to pay only for those.

10. SimplyRCS: best when you want verified RCS live, with no seats

SimplyRCS by Signalmash is an RCS-first messaging platform for US businesses: a shared two-way inbox, blasts, templates, an AI bot builder and an API, with every message sent as verified, branded RCS where the phone can take it and as SMS or MMS where it cannot, the version each customer received reported. The pricing is published: $0.0039 per RCS text or interactive card, $0.0150 with media, $250 a month per verified RCS agent, carrier, TCR and Aegis fees passed through at cost, and the software free, so a ten-person team pays the same as a one-person team. Google sender verification and 10DLC are filed for you, targeting a first verified send in two to four weeks. Honest limits: US only, no email or social channels, and if your need is a low-volume inbox with CRM sync and RCS is a nice-to-have, Heymarket or Salesmsg may be the simpler buy.

  • Support conversations with agents and surveys: Textline.

Whichever you pick, get four things in writing before you sign: what a message costs after fees, who files the 10DLC registration and how long it takes, whether users or seats change the price, and whether RCS is generally available to accounts like yours. Then see what your own brand looks like on a phone: a free sender ID test does that in a minute. Once you are texting, business texting etiquette and TCPA compliance for business texting keep you on the right side of customers and the law.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best business texting service for a small business?

For a small team that mostly answers customers, a shared-inbox service such as Heymarket, Salesmsg or Textline fits; for occasional campaigns, SimpleTexting or EZ Texting; for a few hundred texts a month, Textmagic's pay-as-you-go rate. If you want your business name, logo and rich cards in the thread, SimplyRCS sends verified RCS with SMS fallback at $0.0039 a message, and small businesses can be verified.

Which business texting services support RCS in 2026?

As of September 2026, Heymarket (rich text and branded media, billed in credits), Salesmsg (branded templates and broadcasts with SMS fallback) and SimplyRCS (full RCS with cards, carousels and suggested actions) send RCS. SlickText offers a verified sender profile without rich content. EZ Texting has RCS behind an interest form. Text Request, Textline, Podium, SimpleTexting and Textmagic offer SMS and MMS.

How much does a business texting service cost?

Published prices in September 2026 run from 4.9 cents a text with no plan (Textmagic), through $20 to $60 a month campaign plans with a few hundred credits (EZ Texting, SimpleTexting, SlickText), to per-seat inboxes at $20 to $62 per user a month plus credits (Heymarket) and volume plans from $59 a month (Text Request). SimplyRCS charges $0.0039 per RCS text or SMS, $0.0150 with media and $250 a month per verified agent, with no seat fees.

Do I need 10DLC registration to use a business texting service?

Yes, for any US local number sending application-to-person texts. Every service here either registers the number for you or walks you through it, and most pass the carrier fees through; Textline lists a $15 monthly campaign fee and Textmagic $10. SimplyRCS files 10DLC and the Google RCS sender verification for you.

What is the difference between business texting and SMS marketing software?

Business texting services are built around conversations: a shared inbox, assignment, templates and history, with campaigns as a secondary feature. SMS marketing software is built around lists, promotions and automations, with an inbox as the secondary feature. Many vendors sell both; the pricing model usually tells you which one they are.

Can a business texting service send from my existing phone number?

Most can text-enable an existing landline or VoIP number, or port a mobile number, subject to carrier registration. SimplyRCS ports numbers and redoes the 10DLC filing as part of onboarding, so a switch does not mean a new number.
